Payroll Giving allows employees to make regular donations to Herefordshire Headway directly from their salary and before tax. By making consistently regular payments, we can make much needed plans for the future which will allow us to reach more people with an acquired brain injury in the Herefordshire area.
For businesses, it:
- improves your social responsibility profile
- enhances community involvement
- improves staff recruitment and retention
Payroll giving is an easy and tax effective way for you and your colleagues to give regularly to charity. Donations are taken before tax, meaning that for every £1 donated it will only cost 80p (60p for higher rate tax payers) – the taxman pays the rest!
Employees from companies around the UK gave £122.5m in the financial year 2015-16 and more than one million people gave to charity through their company’s Payroll Giving scheme.
The Government endorsed annual National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards showcase Payroll Giving quality within businesses across the UK – celebrating achievement and praising creativity and dedication to tax-free giving. More details can be found HERE.
Setting up a payroll giving scheme in your organisation is straightforward and free of charge. You simply need to sign up with an approved Payroll Giving Agency who will process your employees’ donations and distribute the money to Herefordshire Headway.
We’ve put together some leaflets and video presentations which are available to watch or download below.
Many thanks for your interest and if you need more information or help with informing your employer of your wish to support us, or you’re an employer setting up a Payroll Giving scheme please contact us on 01432 761000 and ask to speak to our Accounts Manager.
