City Council CEO Visits Headway

Steve Heptinstall CEO Herefordshire Headway and Paul Walker CEO Hereford City Council

Hereford City Council’s CEO, Paul Walker, recently visited our centre in Credenhill to see first-hand the incredible work we do. Headway offers a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for individuals who have an acquired brain injury (ABI).
Our charity’s primary goal is to help individuals maintain or relearn skills so they can live as independently as possible. During his visit, Paul toured the busy woodworking workshop where he saw people making chairs and hedgehog houses. He also visited the garden, music therapy room, and art room, getting a full picture of the diverse activities offered.
Paul noted the vital support Headway offers to carers and families, helping them “find ways to adjust to their new way of living” and provides essential information on benefits, adaptations and other services to aid them on their recovery pathway.
The visit highlighted the vital role Herefordshire Headway plays in the community, not only for those directly affected by a brain injury but also for their wider support networks.
