BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS WEEK 2009

This year the Action for Brain Injury Week 2009 took place from 11-17 May. The theme for this year's awareness-raising week was cycle helmets.

As many Headway service users will testify, helmets can save lives.

With the cost of travelling increasing, it is likely the number of people taking to their bikes instead of their cars will increase. As a pro-cycling organisation, Headway would welcome any such trend. However, with more people taking to the roads on bicycles, there's even greater need to promote vital safety messages. Therefore, during the week, we were encouraging cyclists of all ages to wear helmets.

Coffee Morning

This month's coffee morning became a coffee afternoon/Christmas Bazaar and was held on Tuesday 1st December 2009. Many thanks to all who gave their time to make this a successful event. We raised circa £358.10 in total from coffees, sales of gifts, decroations, cards etc. and a raffle on the day. Thanks to all who attended and to those who donated raffle prizes, which are always appreciated!
